The story of Craftmer Oy begins at the Turku Shipyard in the 1970s, where sheet metal worker Tauno Keskisarja faced daily challenges related to the shaping of heavy metal structures. To make his work easier, he began to develop his own tools – out of practical necessity, for practical use. These early innovations laid the foundation for Craftmer’s expertise and values: understanding the work, quality, and ingenuity.
The current Craftmer Oy was founded in 1991, and international export operations began almost immediately. Over the decades, we have grown from a small workshop into a Finnish manufacturer of special tools, whose products are now used in more than 50 shipyards around the world.
We manufacture special tools in Finland for shipbuilders, but also for the offshore industry and heavy steel construction. All our products are designed in close cooperation with industry professionals and tested under harsh conditions before delivery. When a tool works in heavy-duty applications, it will work anywhere.
Craftmer’s core idea remains the same as it was in the 1970s: to develop tools that truly make work easier – safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Manufacturing takes place in Finland, which guarantees high quality, reliable delivery, and responsibility.
